In the inaugural ceremony of the 47th Annual Conference of the Indian Psychiatry Society North Zone held in Jaipur, the Chief Guest present on the stage and the officials of the National Psychiatry Society North Zone honoured the senior psychiatrist Dr. M L Agarwal couple by giving them the “Doctor N N Wig Oration Award 2021” certificate, prize money and shawl. This honour is the highest honour of the Indian Psychiatry Society North Zone and is given in the memory of renowned psychiatrist late Dr. N N Wig, Director, PGI. In the first session before the felicitation, Dr M L Agarwal delivered an oration lecture on Mental Health Promotion Community Approach (Mental Health for Everyone & Everywhere) in which it was said that stigma (social curse) is the main hurdle in mental health promotion and in order to eliminate it, it is very important to reach out to the last person and provide proper information. Dr Agarwal said that to reach the common man, sitting in air-conditioned rooms and holding meetings will not help; for this it is important to go out and do grassroots work.

जवाहरनगर स्थित अग्रवाल न्यूरो साईकेट्री सेंटर ने एक बार फिर तम्बाकू के ख़िलाफ़ जंग में अपना वर्चस्व स्थापित किया. ३१ मई२०१९ विश्व तंबाकू निषेध दिवस के उपलक्ष्यमें डॉ एम. एल. अग्रवाल ने एक संगोष्ठी का आयोजन किया, जिसमें कई वर्ग के व्यक्तियों ने हिस्सा लिया। डॉ एम. एल. अग्रवाल कोटा के वरिष्ठ मनोरोग चिकित्सक हैंजिन्होंने अपना समस्थ जीवन समाज सेवा को समर्पित किया है। इस अवसर पर कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत डॉ अग्रवाल ने वक्ताओ का परिचय देकर करी। कार्यक्रम की मुख्य अतिथि एवं वक्ता डॉ अनीता शर्मा रैना, लंडन यू.के. के NHS में कार्यरत एक अनुभवी चिकित्सक हैं। उन्होंने लोगों के साथ तंबाकू महामारी के बारे में विचारविमर्श किया। इस वार्तालाप में श्रोताओं की सहभागिता ने एक मुख्य भूमिका निभाई। इसके पश्चात् दिल्ली के मैक्स अस्पताल में कार्यरत वरिष्ठ चिकित्सक डॉक्टर वनितामित्तल ने तंबाकू में उपस्थित हानिकारक तत्वों के विषय पर आसान भाषा में जानकारी दी ताकि ज़्यादा से ज़्यादा लोग समझ सकें। उन्होंने लोगों को सूझ बूझ से निर्णय लेने केलिए प्रोत्साहित किया। लंडन में कार्यरत डॉ वितस्ता ने तम्बाकू के शरीर पर होने वाले दुष्प्रभावों को चित्रों की सहायता से दर्शकों को समझाया। दिल्ली से आई मेडिकल छात्रा ऐश्वर्या ने तम्बाकू निषेध में समाज की ज़िम्मेदारियों के बारे में बात की। उन्होंने बताया कि बच्चों में बढ़ते हुए तम्बाकू के प्रयोग को ख़त्म करने मेंसमाज के हर व्यक्ति को अपनी भूमिका ज़िम्मेदारी से निभानी चाहिए । “अंधेरे में एक चिराग़ ही पर्याप्त है रोशनी के लिए” इस कहावत के साथ डॉ अनिता ने श्रोताओं को समझाया कि तंबाकू की समस्या से लड़ने के लिए परिवारजन में तम्बाकू कीदुशप्रवृत्तियों के विषय में खुले विचार विमर्श अत्यावश्यक है. उन्होंने डॉ अग्रवाल ने अपनी समापन टिप्रणीत में कहा कि इच्छा शक्ति एवं लगातार कोशिशें करने पर ही तम्बाकू के खिलाफ़ हम यह जंग जीत सकते हैं. अंत में एक बुज़ुर्ग आदमी नेलोगो को देश भर में तम्बाकू की फ़ैक्टरियों को बंद करने के लिए आवाज़ उठाने का आवहन किया .

Dr Avinash Bansal made the audience aware about help line & Mr Vipul Agrawal (Delhi) spoke on Parent-child relationship. A Quiz was also organized and prizes given to winners by Mrs Mandavi. Literature on responsible use of internet was distributed and pledge on limited and responsible use of internet was administered to all the students.
